GOLD EXPLORATION - Red Lake high-grade reaches 184 oz per ton

ONTARIO - A gold grade of 184 oz per ton is almost unimaginable, but that is what GOLDCORP has intersected in the hanging wall of the High Grade zone of its Red Lake gold mine. Or in metric terms, over a length of 1.83 metres the core assayed 6,307.53 g/t Au.

The next highest assay, 50.27 oz per ton or 1,723,26 g/t Au over 0.4 metres, came from a hole drilled in the Party Wall between the Campbell and Red Lake mines. The lowest assay reported from the latest round of drilling was a mere 13.37 g/t Au.

The High Grade zone remains open at depth, and Goldcorp plans to test it next year once exploration platforms are completed. The company's goal is to make the combined mines a 1-million-oz/year producer.
