If you are a fan of AuRico Gold (AUQ) ahead of the gold miner's earnings report tomorrow, you are not alone. I was checking out the option activity on several companies reporting on Wednesday morning, and you can't help but notice the extraordinary amount of calls being bought in bunches. On the three major options exchanges, 48 times more calls than puts have been purchased during the past 10 trading days on AUQ. Throw in the fact that nine analysts follow the mining issue, and not one of them recommends selling it, and you have the definition of an over-loved stock.

Now, I'm not going to sit here and predict the earnings report tomorrow. Fact is, I have no idea what the report will say. AUQ may very well blow estimates out of the water. All I'm saying is that the bar for this stock has been set very high, and it could be vulnerable if there is the slightest chink in the company's armor. Definitely one I will be watching.
