ARISE is top pick on BNN Nov 22, 2007

Guest Steve Martin of Crestview likes solar and Arise and First Solar are his top picks. He owns Arise but not First Solar. Says Arise is cheap relative to other plays. He wants to buy FSLR but not at that price. Arise is a buy now...he started buying at 1.40
Other points
doesn't like Ethanol
iffy on geothermal
doesn't like ATS
likes wind but none are top picks

For newbies...Globe article, KW Record, BNN Market Call top pick last night are listed below. On BNN click to watch analyst Steve Martin from Crestview.

ARISE and the University of Toronto have been developing a new photovoltaic technology that will significantly reduce the cost of solar generated electricity. ARISE is developing a manufacturing strategy with world class partners to develop a whole supply chain to reduce cost from a systems standpoint and increase the cost effectiveness of solar

Louis Navellier said in his little book "That Makes You Rich":
"Accelerating Revenues have been a hallmark of just about every tremendous winner I have had in my career.
Companies that show lasting growth in sales are going to produce returns that are not dependent on the overall market or economy. They are in their own little world of price appreciation, which is exactly what we seek."
So sales growth is very important to overall share price. A 20% to 30% growth rate would be all we need to see double digits for APV.
Although APV has not said anything about sales directly we can break down their production targets from their news release to get an idea of the percentage growth in sales.
Take a look:
The manufacturing plant is expected to be completed at the end of the first quarter in 2008. The Company expects to ramp-up the first line to a production capacity of 35MW per year with cell efficiency of greater than 15%. By the end of 2007, the Company expects to finalize the design for line two and place orders with suppliers. Currently, the Company plans to start including its proprietary technology in line two, with a target capacity of 45MW per year and cell efficiency of 18%. The initial Bischofswerda facility will accommodate a third line that is planned for 2009, increasing total production capacity to 125MW. The Company has a target of eight lines at the site, with a total production capacity of 360MW per year by the end of 2012. Provided that certain technical hurdles are met, ARISE expects to achieve 22% cell efficiency with the use of its proprietary PV cell process enhancements by that time.
From this company statement I can figure out what the Sales Growth will be in terms of Percentages assuming the plant is running at full capacity, here goes:

The company plans First Line Production Capcity of 35 MW per year
Second Line target of 45 MW per year
Third Line Capacity to 125 MW per year
Target of 8 lines and by 2012 Total Capacity of 360 MW

So APV is stating that production will grow from 35MW to 360MW from 2008 to 2012. That's 1000% plus in Sales Growth over 5 years or 200% per year! WOW that's HUGE for just 1 plant! Also, The Silicon Feedstock Plant they plan to build would also have to grow at the same 200% annual rate just to keep up with the supply to the Main German Plant! WOW that's huge!

We all have jobs right! Well tomorrow morning walk up to your Boss and ask him or her what the projected Sales Growth will be for the company you work for! He or She will most likely say something like 4 or 5 percent. Then tell him or her that you know of a company that plans to grow Sales at 200% per year over 5 years. After you pick your Boss off the floor you should ask yourself, if a feel safe and secure working for a company with 5% sales growth why in the hell wouldn't I feel just as safe investing a little money into a company with 200% projected sales growth
