Move Could Lead to Greater Russian State Influence
MOSCOW—The head of Russia's state-run defense corporation was elected Monday to the board of potash giant Uralkali, opening the possibility of greater government influence over the company that sent fertilizer markets into turmoil last year.
Rostec Chief Executive Sergei Chemezov is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putinand heads a state-run conglomerate that controls the world's biggest titanium producer, one of the largest arms exporters and Russia's largest car maker.
