VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2008) - Timmins Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:TMM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Hallein Darby as its Senior VP Finance.
Ms. Darby was most recently a director of client services at Pacific Opportunity Capital Ltd., a team of financial and management advisors to emerging companies (primarily mining). Prior to joining Pacific Opportunity Capital Ltd., Ms. Darby was a Senior Securities Analyst with the British Columbia Securities Commission from 1996 to 2006. Ms. Darby is a Chartered Accountant, who was previously employed by Deloitte Touche Tomatsu in the Johannesburg, South Africa, and the Vancouver, B.C. offices, for periods between 1988 and 1996. She has over 20 years of securities and accounting expertise. Ms. Darby has been a director of the Company since May of 2007.
The Company has granted Ms. Darby 50,000 incentive stock options at a price of $0.60 per option expiring two years from date of grant, subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange Inc.
