Dons comment about the news:
"The takeaway from the news release is that the average value of the dump material is close to $60 a tonne. I estimate that there is from 7 to 9 million tonnes of this material which would have a gross metal value of close to US$ 500 million before processing etc costs. As of yet, we have not completed any metallurgical testing and do not have a mill to send the stockpile material to. However, should a mill get set up, the stockpile ‘ore’ would be the first to go through if there are no metallurgical issues.
Second point – while we call the material on surface ‘stockpile’, it really is just the waste, and all of the waste of the previous operation. To me, this means that a lot of the rock in and around the old open pit could be ore in today’s context. Our first core hole that we abandoned demonstrated excellent Cu-Au-Ag mineralization on the edge of the zone we were trying to test. Thus, I think that we will likely find a lot more mineralization in the vicinity of the historic open pit.
Third point, is that we have been finding very high grade porphyry style Cu-Au-Ag mineralization in the Bambana area and with luck we will continue to find more and perhaps the source intrusion for the mineralization.
It is still early days, but we are off to a great start on a company that had almost died for lack of a good property. Hope that this helps."
