Small plug for Alda disinfectant spray in the Winnigpeg Free Press publication (excerpt):

As in the previous question, spray sanitizers and sanitizing wipes should go with every traveller. The areas you should pay most attention to are the television remote control and ice buckets. You will occasionally see plastic lining in some of the ice buckets but be sure to sanitize the lids, and while the glasses and cups are likely washed well, there is little doubt the person providing the maid service, during which he or she may have been in contact with a lot of undesirable areas, has placed and therefore touched these items.

You may want to use the radio and/or alarm clock if they are separate units. Here again, it is likely many fingers and hands have played with the knobs and controls. Sanitizing spray is widely available, including hospital-grade disinfectants. One of the best is a Canadian made product from Alda Pharmaceuticals that were the official supplier of hand sanitizer and disinfectant for the 2010 Olympic and Para-Olympic games.
