TO made a good presentation although I don't think I heard the words 'Olympic' in his interview. The retailer interviewed that was unpacking the boxes of sanitizer in the warehouse said if they could get enough product, their business would have increased 50x or even 100x. Although the timing could not have been better for Alda, this reinforces my suggestion that maybe Alda does not have the facilities and/or money to supply more than what they are pumping out. In other words, even if they could sign on Shopper's, they could never supply product all across Canada in addition to the current commitments.
I am only speculating out loud, but if Alda is unable to fill the aggressive demand for hand sanitizers, all the exposure leading up to the Olympics in February may not work to their favor. The reason I think this is because there is a very good chance that the 'pandemic hype' will lose its momentum as we head into spring around March and demand for hand sanitizers will drop off.
I suspect other players realize this too and will take the opportunity to get out before the H1N1 season (round two) comes to a close. I still see good opportunity here but I do not see anything staggering about to happen over the next four months so I am prepared to sit back and wait to see how this plays out.
This company is always full of surprises so I would not put it past them if they find another production company and pay them in shares to fill orders <grin>.
