It should be a good day but how long it will last is another story. Even with the guarantees, no one knows (or is telling) how much paper one bank is sitting on so none of the banks want to loan to one another. This makes credit hard to get for everyone and eventually, this whole fiasco will drive up interest rates. This would not be a good time to look at buying a house.
