...but I have to share this with you anyway,
Rome2k, I do not know if your post was directed to me so I'll make a comment or two anyway. Owen had a good track record bringing Helix BioTech from .10 cent to .1.60+ and made a lot of people money along the way. I recall there was not a large float and many close to the company held shares.
When Helix BioTech merged with Biocon Products to form Helix BioPharma, I have no comment on that or Owens performance because his role with this new company was much different than the Helix he formed in 1980.
With respect to passing information among themselves, you are most likely correct and you get no argument from me. Anyone would deny it but nevertheless, insiders and family seem to look after themselves. On the other hand though, Owen has indirectly looked after me too so I am not complaining. I have done well with Alda and am optimistic I will do even better over the long course.
I would like to further comment that the background of some of the executives and CEOs of junior mining and and gas companies can be akin to used car salesmen. These people are often hustlers that know the ropes of the venture market, IPOs, financing and all the tools for generating themselves money. Every once in a while they hit something valuable in the ground.
When I look at Owen, we have an educated man with a university background and a vision that turned into a lucrative endevour (Helix BioTech). I do not place him on a pedistal, but if I had a choice of leaving Terry Owen with my money compared to operators like Foley at Winfield Resources (WWF.v), it's a no-brainer where my money would go.
