The investing world owes Dr Paul Craig Roberts an enormous thanks for an excellent read (1) which concludes that the USA through the FED is the great deceiver.

To put it into context how significant this find is and the extent to which the FED is clearly manipulating markets, in order avoid a collapse of the US $ by its "tapering"efforts I add the following anecdotal information.

Belgium has reportedly (1) purchased US treasuries ($141.2 billiion from November through January) apparently holding on to their gold position. As of February 2014 (2) gold reserves have not changed (7,310,000 tr oz = 227 tonnes) and total reserves are 27,873.25 millions of US$ (or $27,873,250,000 ... thats approx $27 billion) from the reported amounts (3) as of December 2013 and earlier. In March they added $40.2 billion more US treasuries (4). What was added in February is unknown.

Of greatest note is that Belgium is purported to have increased their foreign currency reserves around 6 times what they have historically held in a mere 5 months.

Beyond what Mr. Roberts suggest how GDP may support those purchases the other alternative in order to finance those purchases would be to borrow 5 times what they held in assets, sell all existing holdings of gold and other treasuries (assuming they held no US$'s .. otherwise to add that position whatever they held they would also have to be borrowed to add to those purchases).

THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!

HOW ANYONE COULD HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE IN THESE NUMBERS AND HENCE WHAT IS BEING REPORTED IN THE WORLD IS UNFATHOMABLE TO ME.
