Romney needs these attacks to occur to have a chance, Obama needs these attacks to occur to justify spending more money on the military as opposed to social programs. If the attacks don't occur, it will be hard for the democrats to stop the tax cut expiration and the automatic spending cuts to the military. My wager is the attacks won't stop and Obama will go on the attack so he will remain stroingly positioned to win the election.
