I think people are confusing the increase in stocks with the arival of an improving economy. The question is if you no longer trust the bond market and you are losing faith in the US dollar where else do you put your money. Stocks are a partial ownership of physical assets. So even though many are overvalued in terms of P/E they may have good value in terms of dollars.

I expect that eventually the stock market will be rising because of money leaving bonds.
