I like China's chances to manage through a global meltdown ... the US has a few other things that China doesn't have ... trillions in debt, a society who is dependent on social programs, and a society that is growin increasingly restless with the lies of their government. When there are food shortages because they must continue to pay the military industrial complex or risk losing parts of it to those who have money to pay, the Chinese can point at how difficult things our and the growing wealth their is on pause.

In addition the national pride of remaining solid, building wealth in other continents like Africa and aligning themselves with other easter interests ... Russia, the other oriental countries ex Japan, India, and as brazil and SA regain prominence it won't be at China's expense.

Mexico is not the industrial strength nor the cheap source of labour that the government of China has directly at its disposal.

Their wealth will be directed at mitigating the impacts of Europe's and America's calamitous meltdown.

I'll stick with the crowd I have hung out with for quite some time ... PM's ... once the dust settles ... we'll know which countries are winners and losers, in the meantime .. .PM's energy and food ... exiting base metals while the worldwide overcapacity corrects itself would be a wise move whether you like or are concerned with China's prospects.
