Interesting enough if the debts of Fannie and Freddie which are now wards of the US government were included in the total debt figure it would already be close to 21 trillion.

The fed is just waiting until they get the commodities a little more under control (perceived inflation) or the pain in the rest of the economy becomes too much before QE3 begins.
