What gets me is that this happened in 1996 but we are just hearing about it now. There are many in the media that have said they knew about this for years but kept it secret.

It was news when they found out about it so why was it not reported then. Some people would say so what but others would be questioning his leadership skills.
Still should the public not get to decide the relevance of this for themselves?

The ironic part is if thay had reported it back then it would be old news.
Instead this may sink the NDP in the here and now.
