This is one of those rare moments when it might make sense to buy long dated out of the money calls. I wouldn't step up just yet, but sometime this year that trade will make sense.
If there's any good that comes out of the current disaster, it may be that it puts thorium power development on the fast-track. At the very least we should see accelerated timetables for decommissioning all this old 1st generation junk. If our electric bills have to rise to reflect the cost, so be it. There's a whole new industry in energy conservation waiting in the wings. I'm sure the investment returns on that will make it well worth the price.
