We may not make much money, but we sure have a lot of fun!
I never really got the liberals. They don't seem to have any policies of their own and seem to just be interested in getting elected. Moving left and right on the spectrum depending on what they think will be more popular. They used to have a good platform but that seems to have disappeared the day Trudeau was elected PM.
Well, I won't get into the Trudeau thing, but I have to agree with you. Yesterday I was at a mall in Delta and the Liberal party candidate was there handing out leaflets. People just brushed by, and I felt kind of sorry for the guy, so I stopped to talk. Told him I lived in Vancouver though, so I couldn't vote for him. The guy immediately lost interest. Hell, if it were me running, I'd have a stack of cards to hand out for every Liberal candidate in the province, just in case someone like me came along. In fact, if I were party president I'd make that a firm policy - never ever pass up a chance to reach someone, no matter what riding they're in. Not much thinking going on there.
That being said I won't be voting in this election because I am not that fond of the Conservatives either.
In the last 30 years not once have I lived in a riding where my vote made any difference. The curse of living in a nice neighborhood - they're always solid Liberal or Conservative. So, I throw my vote to the underdog, just so the winners don't get too cocky, but I might as well draw a duck on the ballot and vote for it for all the difference it makes. What's the solution? Move to the east side? Personally I'd like to see more referendums, like they have in Latin America. It may not always produce the best outcome, but at least you have a chance of being heard.
