Quantative anaylsis was looking at the numbers factually and providing a standard contextual analysis. Qualatative analysis was taking factors beyond the obvious explanation provided by quantative analysis and providing some form of alternative or supporting explanation to what the quantative analysis was saying.

For example ... quantative analysis says the company makes 25% a year ROI ... qualatative analysis says don't invest because, due to new circumstances the company's product is no longer used in any society anywhere and they are doomed to be a loser.

My qualatitive analysis of Quantative Easing is:

simply the fed manipulating the markets to provide the numbers wherever the dike is leaking to keep people from panicking ... if you need a better reason to buy gold and silver ... I'd like to hear it.
