Capitalism. The only 'system' that has ever worked as far as freedom and prosperity are concerned. All the other options including fascism, socialism, communism and the like usually end up in famines, millions of deaths and massive oppression.
Yet, no matter how much proof there is that capitalism works and the others don't, there is a never-ending, ceaseless drive to get rid of capitalism.
The latest came from Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary General. " by 90% through "family planning", "vaccinations" and "health projects", we need to tax carbon emissions.
He also has a reputation for modesty. OK. But didn't he just call for a global revolution based on a bunch of already disproven theories (global warming)? That doesn't sound very modest.
But here is Ban Ki-moon suggesting that we need a "revolution" to make the "global economy sustainable".
What is the revolution? According to himself and other participants, including Bill Gates who
But, hasn't anyone informed Ban Ki-Moon and Bill Gates that Global Warming was debunked years ago? And that's why they had to change it to Climate Change?
The best and only chance we have at prosperity and to ensure any chance at a pleasant future is by allowing the free markets to operate. Yet, people like Ban Ki-moon, who has never even worked in the private sector, believes we need to have massive government intervention to "ensure sustainable growth."
In the minds of millions, maybe even billions, free markets are dangerous and need to be regulated. They are, of course, deluged with never-ending propaganda about the dangers of free markets.
The movies are full of evil corporations. The most recent was Avatar where an evil mining company was strip mining an entire civilization to get at its unobtanium.
And Resident Evil, with its evil Umbrella Corporation. Funny thing, it seems more like a state. There are no other corporations, and there is no market in the movie because everyone is dead. Bad, bad corporation!
Worse, many people blame all the problems in the United State as being problems caused by capitalism. They say, look, the financial system nearly imploded! That is proof that capitalism doesn't work.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The financial system in the US, with the anti-free market Federal Reserve having a non-free market, government ruled monopoly on money and credit with all the Government agencies including the SEC regulating every facet of the financial system is pretty much the opposite of capitalism. In fact, it is one of the src="http://ih.constantcontact.com/fs057/1104029799675/img/23.jpg" vspace="5" border="0" height="446" hspace="5" alt="Capitalism is Anarchy - YouTube" width="548" />
That's why it is important to pass along videos like the one below and try to open people's eyes:
