Well, before last year there was an interesting rhythm in northern juniors. You see, they do all their exploration and drilling in the summer. It takes a two month period for them to get a lot of their assay results. So there's a lot of excitement right around now. And then, typically, their shares will depreciate and you'll have a buyin when they have no new news to offer in the winter.

Add to that tax-loss selling at the end of the year, and you might end up buying a junior that goes through a tough winter, but has the best of expectations.

I waited and waited for that to happen last winter, and in Atac it never did. So I pulled the trigger and jumped in anyway, and I'm glad I did. In Kaminak, there actually were a few buyins. But not as many as I expected. On the solid juniors, the market rhythms seems to have changed a bit.

You see, I like to find a junior with some solid drill results, and wait till the price is right. Their prices tend to get ahead of themselves when the discovery is fresh on everyone's minds.

HMI for instance ---I think they really do have the gold there, but we won't get to find out until next summer. What is going to hold their share price up all winter?

If I were to invest right now, I would look for one with some really solid drill results, or with a procession of good news coming. RDU, for instance, packs up and does a great job exploring in warmer climes during our winter.

And I would invest a little, not a lot, and watch that money patiently. When the money was down 30% or so in March, that would be my buyin time.

Out of that list, who actually has solid drill results?

ATC KAM VIT AMG GPD SMD RDU (but not in the Yukon) SQI. NUX has a turn of the century past producing high grade gold mine. Of course they have high grade results -the question is if they have enough of it to re-open. Silvercorp seems to think they do.

The others could depreciate considerably over the next 6 months. That's just keeping it real.
