Rubicon Minerals Corp. | |
TICKER: NYSE.A:RBY; TSX:RMX
DESCRIPTION: Rubicon Minerals is a well-funded, leading gold exploration company deriving its strength from a hands-on management team with a track record of discovery. The company owns over 65,000 acres of prime exploration ground in the prolific, high-grade Red Lake gold camp of Ontario, Canada, which hosts Goldcorp's world-class Red Lake Mine and where, in early 2008, Rubicon made the significant F2 Zone discovery at its Phoenix Gold Project. With an exceptional technical team, outstanding assets, a focus on gold camps in politically safe environments and a high profile in the capital markets, Rubicon Minerals has earned the reputation of a leading junior exploration company.

"On July 6, RMX released ~29 additional drill holes on the F2 Zone, which intersected further mineralization at depth in both the northern and southern extension target areas. Intercepts across the F2 Core Zone (where underground access exists) indicated excellent vertical continuity and width of high-grade mineralization—all where an underground sampling program is designed to directly test the zone in Q410. Increased Confidence and Size Potential—F2 Core Zone holds together very well and is high-grade: Hole 305-11 drilled horizontally from 305m underground drift intersected 34.7 g/t over 6.7m, ~21m vertically above 305-05 (which intersected 42.5 g/t over 6.9m), indicating excellent vertical continuity at a very good grade (average 38.6 g/t over 6.8m). Both holes are in the Core Zone to be tested by underground mining in Q410." |

"Rubicon announced preliminary metallurgical gold recoveries of 93.8% from test work on samples from the F2 Gold System. The results were in line with our estimated recovery rate of 94%, based on grade and mineralogy. Importantly, the samples contained no refractory gold component and low arsenic content, which are issues that affect a small portion of the material Goldcorp is mining in the camp." |

"RMX reported further positive high-grade drilling intercepts over large, mineable widths in the F2 Core Zone. Highlights include 6.7m of 34.6 g/t where an underground crosscut is being driven 21 ft. above a previous hold that intersected 6.9m of 42.5 g/t. The F2 Core Zone is currently estimated to span an area of 75m by 600m. Drilling also discovered a new zone to the north, returning intersections of 17.0m of 31.2 g/t and 0.9m at 36.7 g/t at deeper levels below the new zone. Additionally, drilling deeper mineralization to the south returned 6.7m at 22.3 g/t and 0.5m at 73.7 g/t, close to a previous hole that returned 44.9m at 13.7 g/t." |

"Results of preliminary metallurgical test work from the F2 zone at the Phoenix project in Red Lake have demonstrated amenability to conventional gravity and carbon-in-leach processing. The average gold recovery from four composite samples prepared with core from 155 drill intercepts was 93.8%. . .The test work was completed on a large number of intercepts with no differentiation in the style of gold mineralization. The composite sampled included both high-grade, silica-rich gold mineralization characteristic of the core of the F2 zone along with samples from more sulphide-rich peripheral mineralization. The initial high-recoveries suggest that the F2 zone is unlikely to have a component of refractory gold mineralization. The next step for RMX is to complete more selective metallurgical test work to establish recoveries from the different styles of gold mineralization within the F2 zone followed by the collection of a bulk sample to determine more representative gold recoveries. RMX is currently trading at 1.5x the 10% nominal NPV at spot metal prices whereas peers within the BMO Research junior gold coverage universe are trading at an average of 0.9x, respectively." |

"Rubicon reported a drill intercept in Hole 305-11 of 20 g/t over 16m (horizontal thickness), 21m vertically above prior result of 20 g/t gold over 15 meters. The result confirms the grade and thickness of this area where the ongoing drift is expected to reach the F2 Core Zone for delineation drilling purposes in Q4. The company also reported 31 g/t over 17m in Hole F2-102 in the Northern Extension Area ~300m NE of the F2 Core Zone. . .[which] is one of numerous zones of high-grade mineralization that have been discovered within the broader F2 Gold System. The company also reported results from the Northern Extension Area, including one of the best results the company has released from the project to date." |
