Message: Solution to Gulf clean-up?

Sounds good at first glance, but I have a few questions.

How many trucks, railcars, barges, etc. would it take to move the amount of hay you'd need, considering that this isn't a one-time clean-up so much as an ongoing event?

Hay isn't grown for fun, it's grown to feed livestock. So, what will the cows eat in the absence of hay?

Once you've collected up all this hay, then what? No power plant I know of is set up to burn oil soaked hay. Is there somewhere you could dump it that won't get people upset, and more to the point, won't cause further damage to the environment?

Those good 'ol boys look pretty clever, but trust me, the oil companies know all about hay. It works great on small spills - your first choice actually, if it's available. Most of the time it's not, at least not in time to make a difference.

It should work in the marshes though. Probably the only option if oil gets in there.
