The European Union in practice is basically a larger version of the Canadian provincial wealth transfer system on steriods. Germany has paid out about 3 billion dollars in welfare payments since its inception to the smaller shall we say less frugal countries. Many German citizens are starting to resent this especially since most of the other countries have more generous social benefits than germany.

Im not sure what the future will bring but how long would you tolerate the lazy house guest who drinks all your beer, eats all your food and lies on your couch all day watching TV while you go to work.

I am no fan of what the US$ either. This is just an oversold bounce in the fiat currency race to the bottom.
