This is obviously a concern for anyone investing in these metals. How will this supply eventually be absorbed back into the market? Can it be done with disrupting prices?

How blind can he be ... they are preparing and stock piling for war ... they know it is inevitable that the US will attempt to cut off key suppliers to China forcing them to edge forward with might ... if something bigger starts ... you have be prepared with the strategic inventories in key locations.

They will also need more gov't jobs soon and less population down the road in the US ... solves a few worldwide problemes ...first trade disputes then perhaps support in Iran against an Israeli strike.

It is isn't the end of the world ...but there will be apurging of the excess population ... the word excessive may also apply.

Thus you will not see a need to absorb in the market ...this will continue for a couple years ...they know what is going on!
