All this messin' around with gold makes my head hurt. We should just use some other metal for money... like say, tungsten. It's fairly rare, so it would retain its value, but cheap enough that you could make circulating coins out of it. Best of all, it's very hard to fake, so counterfeiting would be less of a problem than with gold. Yeah, tungsten. That's the solution.
