I think what all of these stories are signaling is a lack of confidence in the US dollar and the US government. It is a wake up call for them to stop what they are doing and return to sound monetary policies. One that I doubt they will hear in time.
The actions that are currently being taken to reduce exposure individually will not mean a lot short term but together over time they will be like death by a thousand cuts for the US dollar.
It will take time but given the current US policies the US dollar will eventually loose it reserve status.
