Bakken test boosts Brigham stock

US explorer Brigham Exploration said one of its wells in the Bakken shale produced about 2154 barrels of oil equivalent per day during an early 24-hour flow back period, sending its shares up 9%.
The Anderson 28-33 well, in which Brigham maintains a 66% working interest and 55% net revenue interest, is in the Ross area of the shale.
The well produced about 1838 barrels of oil and 1.9 million cubic feet of gas, the company said.
Last week, the company reported second-quarter production of 4526 boed and forecast third-quarter production of 4667 boed to 5167 boed, of which about 50% was expected to be oil, a Reuters report said.
Shares of the company were up 9% at $6.47 in trading after the bell.
They had closed at $5.94 today on Nasdaq.
