Since government won't tell the truth about the dire conditions of the North American economies, we have to look to corporate leaders (the ones not being run or bailed out by gov't), who are consistently repeating a common theme ... there will be no quick turnaround, in fact we have to hunker down further.

A consumer based economy needs consumers .... so no surprise the policy makers who made this mess are their own best cheerleaders and working hard to convince us poor consumers to keep speding beyond our means ... and even if the consumers won't they will on their behalf ... deficit spending means spending future earnings.
