We may not make much money, but we sure have a lot of fun!
Nuclear Fusion his somehow the present day alchemist ultimate dream for energy production as the article said research have been goin' on for decades and all efforts have been eluded so far .
I remember reading about experiments being done in the 70's in Scientific American and if i recall properly ,the problem at the time was to produce enough energy in a control environment to be able to fusion hydrogen atoms .
As the article said fusion is the reaction happening in the sun transforming hydrogen into helium
The energy needed to produce such reactions is humongous and yet it has to be control...
Somehow not so long ago i came across a paper from US researcher i think it involved army people from a California research center who claimed they had positive result from an experiment that produced an ever so tiny amount of energy , I also remember their results were not quite satisfactory and were subject to critics .
So it appears that untill recently scientists have still been eluded in their search .
I alway felt fusion would be the only acceptable source of nuclear energy 'cause i don't think humanity is responsable enough to deal with the wastes or has enough integrity to assume the risks associated with fission energy production .
If Mr. laberge and his team or anyone else could make a break through in nuclear fusion it would be a Noble Price type of accomplishment considering all the implications involved . And of course they would be a huge commercial success as well
I wish them a lot of succes with their research it would be a breakthrough for humanity , especialy since the next decades will see a lot of nuclear energy central being built everywhere on the planet ( I personaly think it's a very scary thought no matter what the industry says . I DON'T BELIEVE THEM ) .
As for Ballard i like them and wish them well .
