We may not make much money, but we sure have a lot of fun!
I would argue thar the real purpose of the stres test is to boost the confidence of most people assuming they will believe the governmemt on their word . Now would'nt it be highly unresponsible if the conclusion of the stress test were to put the government in a situation where they would have to come up with over a trillion dollars in order for the banks to look solvent in case of a hypothetical situation, knowing there are no ways the administration could convince either the congress or the population to loan that money to those most of us consider to be a bunch of crooks . The last thing the world needs right now is for those banks to fail , and it's my assumption that from the start that test aimed at showing the world that US financial institutions are up to the task 'cause there is not much more the government can do at this point unless printing and printing and that won't help much more as most agree . If the worst case scenario were to be applied to banks then the worst case scenario might very well happen and nobody in his right mind wishes for something like that , whatever the truth right now the world needs good news and the US more then most so let's be jovial in the face of disaster if it can alleviate some of the problems ahead . Investors on the prowl will still gain from gold or otherwise , but the world does'nt have to come to an end or to a worst case scenario , this time we need some lies as long as they don't preclude to the worst we can live with it .
