silver standard is again a producer. the original silver standard mine closed down in 1958, and the company hadn't produced any silver since then. yesterday they had the governor of jujuy province, the president of argentina, and everyone but the pope on hand to inaugurate the opening of the pirquitas mine. clearly argentina is not ecuador.

and it is refreshing to see an exploration company stay the course and do the hard work of taking a property all the way into production instead of taking the money and running.
