I like the Gold/Silver, Energy and Agriculture theme.
Except for some short etf's I have decided to keep it that simple for now.
I have reduced the total number of companies I hold and am emphasizing quality over quantity. I want to be more nimble in this market.
I was expecting that the new US stimulus plan would target infrastructure and thus give a temporary boost to the US markets sparking a recovery rally. The bill that was passes being mostly pork and the new cap and trade etc initiatives have now in my mind put that in question. I think any relief rallies will be weak.
I am playing it cautious here with a good cash reserve.
I like China long term but it is too early for me to make an investment at this point. China is very dependent on the export markets and to me is a big question at this point. Can they transform to a more consumer based economy fast enough?
I will wait and see what develops over the next few months.
