One of the things that the US could really learn from Canada is the need to open her doors to immigration. I can't say I've always loved the influx of other cultures that come into our country. However, North America isn't producing enough babies to fuel growth. As the Baby Boomers age, we need replacements and need them quick.

that may be true of russia and japan, but not the united states. the us rate of population growth is among the highest of the developed countries. whatever problems we have with economic mismanagement and corruption, we are certainly creating enough babies.

the us population is currently 305 million, and forecast to grow to 439 million in the year 2050. also by the year 2042 caucasians will be a minority. unlike most of the developed world, the us population is growing, and becoming more diverse all the time.
